Introducing Bridge to Medicine

Bridge to Medicine is a student-led initiative under the Bridge to Campus network that aims to support equity-deserving students on their path to medical school. Created by medical students at the University of Toronto, the program connects applicants with personalized mentorship, interview preparation, and practical guidance through webinars and one-on-one support. Whether students are navigating the application process for the first time or seeking extra insight into the interview stage, Bridge to Medicine is committed to fostering a more inclusive and supportive pre-med community.

Our Mission

Our mission is to reduce barriers to medical school for students from underrepresented and equity-deserving backgrounds—including those who identify as Indigenous, Black, 2SLGBTQIA+, low-income, first-generation, rural, or living with disability. We believe that the future of medicine must reflect the diversity of the communities it serves. By providing free, high-quality mentorship and resources, we aim to empower aspiring medical students with the tools, confidence, and community they need to succeed.

Program Scope

- Bridge to Med is a student-led mentorship program at the University of Toronto designed to support equity-deserving applicants to medical school. Our scope is limited to interview preparation only.

- We provide practice opportunities, peer mentorship, and feedback to help applicants build confidence and communication skills for medical school interviews. We do not provide assistance with application essays, file review, or any other part of the admissions process. We do not share or use confidential admissions materials, scoring rubrics, or insider information.

Our goal is to complement existing faculty programming by creating a supportive, peer-based environment. Bridge to Med exists to reduce barriers and empower applicants through skill- and confidence-building, not to provide privileged access to admissions.
